Creating more hedging from cuttings

We purchased about 40 small hedging seedlings at an auction about 10 years ago, that with great perseverance and care from my partner have grown into a wonderful small hedge in the backyard.

Our front garden is a work in progress that we would like to make orderly with a hedge.  So we decided to try our hand at taking cuttings and growing them to plant in the front garden.

My mother is a keen experienced gardener and has successfully grown from cuttings for over 65 years so we thought it can't be too hard!

So we purchased these great little cardboard pots that can be planted with the seedlings into the ground

Filled them with soil and then watered as per the instructions on the pack.

We purchased a liquid that assists with cutting growth, dipped the cutting into the liquid and then into the pot.

We have about 20 cuttings that are progressing well, new growth on the top after about 6 weeks.  A few more weeks and will test one to check that root growth has been achieved and then into the front garden they will go.  This is a work in progress, so I will keep you up to date with our hopefully successful front garden hedge!
